What happens after you hit send

No discovery calls that go nowhere and no proposal that arrives three weeks later. Four steps, and you know where you stand after the first one.

Step 01

You send the brief

Tell us the goal, the timeline and the constraints. Rough notes are fine — we would rather see the real problem than a polished specification.

Step 02

We reply with a read

Within one business day you get our honest take: what we would build, what we would cut, and whether we are the right people for it.

Step 03

We scope it properly

A short call, then a written scope with fixed pricing, a delivery date, and a clear list of what is and is not included.

Step 04

We build and hand over

You see working software as it lands, not a status report. At the end you own the code, the accounts and the documentation.

Not sure which of these you are?

Every enquiry reaches the same inbox, so you do not have to pick correctly. This is simply what tends to come through the door.

Websites, web apps and internal tools

Marketing sites, client portals, dashboards and the integrations sitting behind them. Most website builds start at $3,000; full applications start at $15,000.

Questions about the software we ship

Already using one of our products and need a hand? Product questions reach the same inbox and get answered by the people who built it.

Explore the ecosystem
We would rather turn a project down than take one we cannot do well. If your brief is not a fit, you will hear that in the first reply — usually with a pointer to someone better suited than us.

Iain Feeney

Founder, Stacklumen — answers the contact form personally

Why work with Stacklumen

We are a small software and web development company that ships its own products. That shapes how we take on client work.

You talk to the people building it

There is no account layer between you and the work. Whoever scopes your project is the same person writing the code and answering your questions three months later.

Fixed scope, fixed price

You approve a written scope with a number attached before anything starts. No hourly drift and no surprise invoice at the end of the month.

We ship our own software

Hublumen, Baselumen and Kitlumen are ours. The tooling and the standards we bring to client work are the ones we maintain in production every day.

You own everything at handover

Code, repositories, hosting, domains and documentation all transfer to you. Nothing is held back to keep you on a retainer you did not ask for.

Built to be maintained

Conventional, readable code and native platform features over clever workarounds — so the next developer can pick it up without proposing a rewrite.

Straight answers, quickly

If something will not work, or will cost more than it is worth to you, you hear it early rather than after the invoice. First reply lands within one business day.

Before you write to us

The questions that come up most often. If yours is not here, ask it in the form — it gets answered either way.

How quickly will I hear back?

Within one business day, including on the enquiries we turn down. If nothing has arrived, check your spam folder and then email support@stacklumen.com directly.

What does a project cost?

Website builds start at $3,000. Applications with accounts, data and integrations start at $15,000. Either way you get a fixed number in writing before work begins.

How long does a build take?

Most websites run two to six weeks from kickoff. Applications depend on scope, and the delivery date is part of the written scope rather than an estimate that moves.

Do you work with clients outside the US?

Yes. We work remotely across most time zones and keep decisions in writing, so progress never depends on everyone being in the same room at the same hour.

Can you take over an existing project?

Often, yes. We start with a paid audit of the current codebase so both sides know exactly what they are walking into before committing to anything ongoing.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes, as a monthly retainer covering maintenance, updates and a set amount of development time. It is optional — nothing you own stops working if you decline it.

Tell us what you are building.

One form, one business day, one straight answer — whether that answer is yes or no.
