After years building as Stackent, we've evolved into something bigger — a thoughtful ecosystem of tools, studio work, and education for the modern web. The new name reflects what we actually do now, and where we're going. Same team, same care, broader horizon.
Stackent was the right name for a web studio. Stacklumen is the right name for what we've become — a platform of tools, studio work, education, and community for the people shaping the modern web.
Years of shipping Webflow and Shopify work built up a library of patterns, components, and hard-won methods. Clients kept asking for the same building blocks. At some point the honest answer became: we shouldn't keep rebuilding these privately — we should release them.
Stackent signaled a service provider — one agency, one offering. What we're building now is four connected surfaces: studio work, open tooling, education, and community. Each one feeds the others. A new identity was the clearest way to make that shape legible.
Small business owners and independent developers don't need more jargon, more platforms, or more gated knowledge. They need things to make sense. Stacklumen — literally "the light of the stack" — names that promise directly. We build tools that illuminate instead of obscure.
Rebrands made under pressure look rushed. We're doing this while the business is stable, the work is shipping, and the roadmap is clear — because we want the next decade of Stacklumen to be built on a name that actually fits the mission. Quiet now, louder later.
A lumen measures illumination — how much visible light something actually gives off. In naming ourselves Stacklumen, we're committing to a specific promise: we illuminate the stack instead of adding to its clutter.
Clear tools. Clear documentation. Clear paths for builders, owners, and teams who want the modern web to make sense. "Stack" grounds us in what we work on. "Lumen" names what we bring to it.
It's a word you can explain in one breath and remember forever. That's exactly the quality we want the work to have.
The name and the horizon are bigger. Everything else you've come to expect from Stackent carries forward unchanged.
Stacklumen is the parent identity for a connected ecosystem. The studio funds the tooling. The tooling grows the community. The community reinforces the studio. Each part makes the others stronger.
The original agency work, evolved. Full-service Webflow and Shopify builds for small businesses and emerging brands — the proving ground for everything else in the ecosystem.
The tooling arm — custom code embeds, motion libraries, Shopify starters, and React components. Everything we've built for clients, released in the light for everyone.
Education as a first-class product. Build docs, video walkthroughs, and the decision log behind real client projects — teaching modern web craft in the open.
A gathering place for builders, owners, and teams using the Stacklumen stack. Office hours, code reviews, early access to Labs releases, and a place to ship together.
A phased rollout designed to be invisible to you. You don't need to do anything — everything is handled on our side.
The new brand is live at stacklumen.com. Every Stackent link redirects automatically — bookmarks, old emails, and Google results all still work. Studio work continues uninterrupted.
ActiveTeam emails, social profiles, and portfolio links complete their migration. Stacklumen Labs enters private beta with early access for select clients and collaborators. Documentation begins going public.
UnderwayLabs goes public. Academy launches as the education arm. Community opens. The four surfaces operate as one connected brand — each reinforcing the others. The light extends.
OngoingStraight answers to the questions we've been hearing. If yours isn't here, reach out and we'll answer it directly.
A rebrand only works if it's handled with care. Here's what that means for you.
Active projects, timelines, and deliverables continue exactly on track. The transition happens in the background while the work keeps moving.
Any change that might touch you — email, billing, contracts — comes with direct notice from the person you work with. No mass emails, no surprises.
Redirects from Stackent domains stay live indefinitely. Old email forwards remain active. No link in the wild ever breaks because of this move.
If anything about this feels unclear or you want to talk through what it means for your project specifically, we're one email or one call away.
Whether you want to continue your studio work, join the Labs early access, or just talk through what any of this means for you — we're one message away.
